This new-build home seeks to create a series of welcoming, playful spaces designed for the enjoyment of multigenerational living. Embracing the natural slope of the terrain, the design steps down the hillside, allowing the building to unfold in layers that offer varying levels of privacy and connection, creating a harmonious flow of shared and private areas. Central to the home’s design is an existing pool, which becomes the focal point around which the different living spaces are carefully organized, encouraging seamless interaction.
The architecture features simple, contemporary forms stacked in a thoughtful arrangement, introducing not only depth and shade but also visual interest. The structure is enveloped in a natural material palette of charred timber, soft oak, and natural stone, which not only grounds the building to the earth but also blends effortlessly with the surrounding landscape. These materials work in harmony with the dense tree backdrop, camouflaging the home’s form and creating a sense of tranquillity and timelessness, while still making a bold architectural statement.
