The owners of Cliff Rock house spent many months looking for their ideal future home. Once found, the opportunity was to make it feel like home, providing the accommodation for both everyday living and hosting of friends and family in the summer, while making a sound investment in the future. 

Mattinson Associates helped with the selection of a suitable property, assessing many options over successive months. We designed alternative proposals, to help our client make the decision over renovations versus new build on the site and delivered striking architectural designs.

With fantastic Isle of Wight sea views and located on a steeply sloping plot, our design featured here delivers a bit of Californian hillside elegance with a modern and stripped back aesthetic in mind. We’ve made a feature of key trees on the site through the landscaping designs while adding appropriate additional hard and soft landscaping. In line with the client’s brief, the interior design envisages use of reclaimed and local materials in natural colours. The architectural design creates a series of living spaces appropriately massed for the site and context, which take in the views while providing protection from inclement weather. The design makes use of sustainable principles and specifications to deliver a truly remarkable home.
